Definition of Health and Wellness How to get started!

When I received the beautiful invitation to be part of Kira's team as editor of Health and Wellbeing, I did not think twice, for me it is an honor to be here with you sharing tips that I have learned along the way about taking care of the body, the mind , food and above all your lifestyle.

I want to start by defining what is Health and Wellbeing: They are healthy habits and all those behaviors that we have internalized as our own in our daily lives and that positively lead us to our physical, mental and social well-being.


I will tell you a little bit about myself, I am a television producer and actress, I am happily married and I live in Los Angeles, California. For many years I focused on my career and seeking happiness. For a moment I believed that work and success were everything, until one day my body took its toll and I passed out from dehydration and malnutrition. In fact it was weird because I was even overweight, and the doctor told me in my 30s that I didn't know how to feed myself and that I should live a little lighter. 


Anyway, this impacted me so much that I started looking for how to make a change in my life and it was when I fell in love with the health and well-being of the human being, in English it is called Health and wellness..”

At first it was difficult, I did want to make a change of heart, but it was as if my mind and my body agreed to ignore the desires of my heart. I felt mentally lazy, I felt tired and no matter how hard I tried I didn't know how to start.


And this is what I want to talk to you about today. What do I do? Where do I start? I don't know how to do it!erlo!

These are questions that I asked myself for years. I tried many things to start living a healthy lifestyle. It started every Monday and I gave up every Tuesday and, if it went well, I gave up on Wednesday. Does it sound familiar to your?

I tell you all this as a tangible example, because if this also happens to you, do not worry, at that moment I was not ready, for my brain to click, but it was until I really paid attention, I made a decision to change And after a lot of research, talking to experts, watching videos, talking to doctors, nutritionists, and trainers, I finally started to find answers on how or where to start a healthy lifestyle.


This is how I started and everything clicked! I had to pause and really think, look inside myself, study and ask myself these questions:

  • ¿Who am I now and who I want to be?

  • ¿I am doing and following the steps to become that person I imagine?

  • ¿Where do I lack courage and effort and why? I do not know how to do it, I said to myself Is this an excuse What stops meetiene?

  • ¿I'm happy what makes me happyz? 

  • ¿I am eating balanced and with all the nutrients?

And the list went on ...


I answered all these questions and then, imagining what my life would be like, living a healthy lifestyle, I wrote:

  • I want to be successful and work hard to make my dreams come true.

  • I want to be a role model for others.

  • I want to look and feel healthy and happy inside and out.

  • I want to learn to exercise my body at least 3 times a week.


With this intimate dialogue that we are sharing in this space that Kira Life provides us, I would love you to ask yourself these questions and create your own wish list of your heart and goals that you have for your life, so that we can clearly visualize the habits you want. change and tackle one by one, you think Let's get started! With the following steps we can create together an action plan for your new lifestyle.da.



  • Establish your list of priorities and wishes of your heart.

  • Write your schedule from when you wake up and go to sleep at night.

  • Write how many hours you work.

  • Write your meal and snack times.

  • Write how many times you exercise in the week.

  • Write how many hours you are on social media.

  • Write how many hours you watch television.

  • Write down how many hours you spend with your family that are extremely necessary.

  • Write other activities of your day to day or week.


This is the first step, after answering the questions above, you will see how everything will have more clarity and organization. You will be able to see your life on a paper or computer with structure and priorities where you are the most important thing in your life, and little by little you will see the changes.

¡First we identify and then we look for solutions one step and one habit at a time!


Tip: Start slowly.

Your goal, at this point, is to establish habitual behavior. Get familiar with your new habit and start adapting it to your routine. For example, instead of doing 100 sit-ups a day, start with 10. Smaller actions require less thought, which requires less effort. Once these actions become consistent, they will start to feel more natural. Soon, they will become a regular part of your daily routine and eventually a lifestyle.
